Great War song by DeVille Band w/ Hook Herrera

Willy DeVille - Low Rider [live Paradiso 2006]

Great War song by the Willy DeVille Band with Hook Herrera on harp live in Paradiso Amsterdam Holland (2006) from the dvd 'Live In The Lowlands'.

“Low Rider” is a song written by the band War and appearing on their album Why Can’t We Be Friends?, released in 1975. It reached number one on the US Billboard R&B charts and peaked at number 7 on the Pop Singles chart. According to the All Music Guide review of the song, “the lyric takes the cool image of the low rider — the Chicano culture practice of hydraulically hot-rodding classic cars — and using innuendo, extends the image to a lifestyle”. The song’s most distinguishable feature is its driving bass line, which is present for nearly all of the song. It also ends with a siren-like noise that then becomes a saxophone solo. See here a WAR Greatest Hits Live Medley (2008). The legendary band's first new release in 14 years.

All my freinds know a lowrider
The lowrider gets a little higher

Lowrider drives a little slower
Lowrider is a real goer

Lowrider knows every street, yeah
Lowrider isn't one to leak

Lowrider don't use no gas, now
Lowrider don't drive too fast

Take a little trip
Take a little trip
Take a little trip to see

Take a little trip
Take a little trip
Take a little trip with me

Also Cheech & Chong used War's Low Rider in their 1978 movie Up In Smoke.
