CD box 'Terug Naar Lochem' [Back To Lochem]

Catch A Fire Limited will release in September 2011 a 5 disc CD called: 'Terug Naar Lochem' [Back To Lochem]. Five albums by Various Artists between 1968 and 1986 at the famous festival in Lochem The Netherlands.

In 1968 the first outdoor event held in Lochem Gelderland, 'Pilgrimage' was the first version of the Lochem Festival which in 1986 ceased to exist. Mink DeVille, played on May 31, 1984 at the Lochem Festival. The song 'Love and Emotion' (live) will be on disc2 (pop) of this box. That year also occurred: Bo Diddley, The Jack Bruce Band, Clint Eastwood & General Saint and the Dutch bands CCC Inc. and Waanzin.

Willy DeVille was nominated for an Academy Award for his song Story Book Love (1987) which was theme song for the movie “The Princess Bride”. From the street influences of NYC’s lower east side to San Francisco, then touring Europe, moving to New Orleans, New Mexico and back to NYC, Willy’s music echoes the roots of American R&B, folk, New Orleans, blues and rock. The Spirit Of Mink DeVille are band members who toured and recorded with Willy DeVille since 1976. 1982 found Mink DeVille in the middle of the transition from their CBGBs New York punk origins to a more subtle, rootsier sound blending soul, R & B, Cajun and other influences. Lead by the late Willy DeVille, whose unique style and inimitable gravelly voice always made them stand out from the crowd, Mink DeVille released their first album in 1977 and imediately had a huge hit with the track Spanish Stroll. By the time of this appearance at Montreux in 1982 they were touring in support of the fourth album Coup De Grace and the show features tracks from across their career to that point as well as a couple of unreleased gems including their cover of the Ben E King classic Stand By Me.
